Next week I have my Fashion Marketing exam. Last year's was extremely easy, and just showed me how qualified my lecturer's were to teach a degree. The exam consisted of 50 multiple choice questions and an essay question, all of which we had been given as a mock exam the week earlier, along with the correct answers. It's fair to say that this year's exam is going to be a lot harder, with a lecturer who loves her job (and may obsess a little on what she teaches), it's fair to say that Heather Iwanow is, with out a doubt, the best lecturer we have at MMU.
Anyway, the case study she has given us is a particularly interesting extract from an article published in The Times on 21 May 2010, entitled 'Where to find cheap fashion' available at The Times Online
The article lists some very interesting sales sites, including:
- designersales.co.uk - lists dates for clothing sales events
- secretsamplesale.co.uk
- samplesaleslondon.co.uk
- stylebible.com
- outlet.ebay.co.uk - high street outlet site
- theoutnet.com - designer outlet site
- brandalley.com - designer discount site
- cocosa.com - invite only designer discount site (type 'thetimes')
- swishing.com - clothes swapping site
- whatsmineisyours.com
- swapaholix.co.uk
- sheerluxe.com - discount code sites
- moneysavingexpert.com
The only problem now is that I will be spending more time looking through these sites than I will be revising!
